I will present on Youtube a number of video’s presenting the first steps you can take if you want to enter the path of shamanic singing and drumming.
In the first video I will explain the essence of the transpersonal state and the relevance of shamanic drumming and singing to enter that state.
In the second video I will introduce the shamanic rattle and explain how use it to enter a transpersonal state.
In the third video I will present the shaman’s drum and explain the breath and the essence of shamanic drumming.
Shaman’s songs: how to sing yourself?
You find out that while singing a shaman’s song it will become you and you will become it. It is not complicated to enter the realm of shaman’s song, you need a number of prerequisites:
- Of course you first need a shamanic drum. A good one with fine resonance, preferably in more than one tones.
- Than you need inner silence. This is easy, you just listen to a simple drum ritme you create yourself.
- And you need to dare producing sound and witness your own voice.
The process of producing Gibberish can help you developing a skill for producing channeled songs and texts. The word “gibberish” refers to a Sufi mystic, Jabbar. Jabbar never spoke understandable language, he just uttered nonsense sounds, and followed the flow. That is what you should do!
Listen to your won voice and start a simple modulation.
Play with the emergent simple modulation and step by step expand your song.
Trust the words do not need to mean anything to you at this moment, just be a channel for the music.
We will step by step take you by the hand in a series of short youtube movies.
Shamans have always used their voice to express their inner being in song, and used the drum for a creating a transpersonal state of consciousness.
Chronic Pain and Shamanic Songs
I discovered the value of the shaman’s drum and shamanic songs while exploring different inroads to treat chronic pain states. In the old ages shaman’s where healers and the songs were used to heal. In modern times this context has never been used anymore to help sufferers from chronic pain. As a MD treating chronic pain patients in the classical way, I wanted to further explore the value of breath and singing, for healing and in order to find out whether this can lessen pain.
On this path I step by step developed a system for anyone who wants to try, to learn to sing their own shamanic songs.
Sing your hart out!
This chronic pain project we call ‘sing your hart out’, and we explore in how far singing (which is an elaborate breath excersize, can help lessening the pain, and creating a healing atmosphere. Of course you understand that you can sing everywhere, also in thought!
Now many sites on the net entering the topic of Shaman’s songs are relative formalistic, and elaborate on the classical context how Shaman’s used drum and voice to enter the spirit world, to travel around and for instance recaptured lost soul parts. This entire context should not be a hurdle to start yourself, from scratch, exploring what shamanic singing could be for you. You should drop all these contextual stories and investigate what shamanistic singing can bring for you. Via a number of short Youtube movies we will step by step explore this field of channeled singing!
