We would suggest an interesting experiment with Inner Light for you to participate in based on the Phosphenes and Meditation.
The phosphene lingering test is a simple test and meditative practice that invites participants to observe and explore the subtle phenomena of afterimages produced by gazing at a candle flame. This exercise merges the scientific curiosity of visual perception with the meditative art of mindful observation, offering insights into the ever-changing nature of light and consciousness.

Phosphenes are the luminous impressions that linger in the field of vision after exposure to a light source. They are not merely optical illusions but reflections of the intricate processes within our visual system and consciousness. By engaging in this test, you will have the opportunity to witness how these impressions transform in color, shape, and intensity, revealing a dynamic interplay between the outer world and inner awareness.
The process is straightforward and accessible to everyone. By focusing your gaze on a candle flame for one minute and then closing your eyes, you create the conditions to observe the afterimages or phosphenes. You can cover your eyes with your hands, or do the experiment in a dark room. The phosphenes may appear as vibrant colors, shifting shapes, or patterns that fade over time. Each individual’s experience is unique, influenced by factors such as lighting, focus, and even emotional or mental states.
Before you begin, find a quiet and dimly lit space where you can sit comfortably without distractions. Place a candle at eye level and maintain a relaxed and steady gaze. After one minute, gently close your eyes and take a moment to observe the phosphenes as they appear and evolve.
Document the changes in colour and shape and how long it takes for your system to not see any remnant of the after-effect. Please note down your experiences under the Youtube in the discussion section. We look forward to collecting various experiences and compare how that looks like!
Your experiences will help to further develop the Yoga of Light!
Either write your experience here, or perhaps better directly under the Youtube movie above! Thanks!!
